LkSG due-diligence software for a compliance consultancy

An established German compliance consultancy met its clients' supply-chain due-diligence obligations under the LkSG with Excel, Word, and email — sound on substance, but unscalable and barely audit-proof. Today it runs on its own guided LkSG software under its own brand.

Starting point

The German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) requires obligated companies to systematically analyse human-rights and environmental risks across their supply chains, take action, run a grievance mechanism, and document all of it in an audit-proof way for BAFA, the enforcing federal authority. The consultancy initially delivered this per client with spreadsheets, Word templates, and email: sound on substance, but with no consistent process, no traceability, and an annual report painstakingly stitched together by hand. It wanted to turn its methodological know-how into its own reusable product.

Solution

Working alongside the firm's subject-matter experts, we built an application that covers the entire LkSG due-diligence process — from supply-chain structure analysis to the finished regulatory report. A multi-step, guided workflow per supplier leads through degree of fulfilment, risk analysis, and risk assessment, so every rating ends up fully derived and evidenced.

  • Guided workflow from structure analysis to the risk matrix (gross and net)
  • Degree of fulfilment per risk, with referenced evidence and the statutory text alongside
  • Preventive and remedial measures plus a digital grievance mechanism, as required by the LkSG
  • BAFA-compliant annual report generated automatically as a Word document, on demand
  • Statistics cockpit: risk distribution, suppliers by country, and the most critical suppliers
  • Multi-year and multilingual, role-based, with two-factor authentication

A look inside the product

Illustrative demo data; an anonymised product example — it deliberately does not reproduce the real product.

Results

Scattered spreadsheets became a guided, audit-proof product — and an advisory service became a scalable, differentiating offer. Every risk analysis follows the same law-aligned steps across all advisors and clients, and days of manual report assembly become minutes. Data sovereignty comes from a flexible deployment model: the platform is designed to run on-premises at the client or as SaaS, delivered as a web app — with a desktop variant where needed.

  • A guided process, not gut feel — law-aligned across all advisors and clients
  • Audit-readiness through a complete history and structured data
  • Reports in minutes instead of days, structured to legal requirements
  • A new revenue line: its own software-backed offering in the market

What clients say about working with us

They're wonderfully honest and upfront and provide incredible customer service as well. They go above and beyond; when one of our customers went bankrupt, Browserbite EOOD helped us get through that. If anyone needs help with anything technology-based, I always put them in touch with Browserbite EOOD. They're very knowledgeable.

They've already provided the prototype, which we're able to show our customers. We're just doing beta testing with them and fine-tuning the app on our end.

The client and we as consulting partner were very happy with the quality and the cooperation with Browserbite.

Really feels like working with a partner who cares about the projects as much as we do.

Robert Vossen
Partner, Consulting Agency

Overall, the app has received positive feedback. After Browserbite EOOD implemented the platform, our users found the processes very practical. Previously, we had to provide training for these processes, and the app made everything more intuitive. Our users are happy to have that tool, and we now have better productivity and quality.

They delivered everything on time and on point. We communicated using Google Meet, constant phone calls, and Slack messages. Additionally, we used Google tools to share documents.

Within 3 months we executed a live proof of our concepts and reached valuable insights into our business model. We started into the next project phase fast and will further develop our product.

The communication and bilateral understanding were superb.
